Personal Experience

This product was suggested to me by my esthetician quite a few years ago, as I was going through a phase whereby my skin was terrible. I was continually breaking out through my T-zone, but then dry everywhere else. I had finally settled on a skin care regime, which probably wasn’t the best for my skin, but was the only thing keeping a full on breakout at bay.

She suggested trying the opposite of what I had been doing. I had figured that cleaning with more abrasive products must be the answer (obviously my skin was just retaining oil and dirt, which was clogging the pores…right?). She suggested trying the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, even if it was just in the morning, to get used to the idea of not always having to scrub my skin.

The product comes in a white plastic bottle, with a blue and white pump. Obviously I know what to look for now, but one could easily miss the packaging as some generic brand and keep looking. Once again, there is something to be said for great products not needing to advertise themselves very much. The product itself is a odorless creamy cleanser. It’s not soapy, nor does it lather or foam, which was completely foreign to me. Naturally I was opposed, but tried anyways. Best move ever! My skin slowly started re-hydrating and evening out.

I use this product almost every morning to wake it up with a super gentle cleansing and hydrating product. It can also be used after a long day as it is not only gentle and hydrating, it also holds its own ground to remove dirt, makeup and impurities. I will admit, if you are using more that light makeup, a product designed specifically for this task will most likely do the job more effectively. However, this product is actually so gentle that if you happen to get some in your eyes, it doesn’t burn your eyeballs to the socket.

This sweet little number is a must have if you have dry, sensitive skin.
