If you are like me and are trying to make conscious healthy choices of what to put in your body and ON it, you won’t be disappointed with Ivory Deodorant. They have a few different scents which are delightful, depending on your your preference.

Personal Experience

A couple of years ago I began taking a conscious awareness of the products that were coming into contact with my skin. I have always had sensitive skin which could easily trigger an eczema outbreak or general itchiness. I was also doing a bit more reading about the potential side effects of continuously wearing antiperspirant (which most of us have been doing since our early teens). Don’t get me wrong, there are certain times that I bust out the antiperspirant (I have my fave which I’ll drop in another article), but day to day I wear Ivory Deodorant (Hint of Lanvender).

This deodorant is such a gentle product for your skin; I choose the lavender scent, which has just enough of a pleasant lavender scent. It isn’t overwhelming, but has a nice crisp fragrance. I find that this dissipates quite quickly, so if you aren’t one for overpowering smell, this product checks off that box. I find that the products glides nicely and goes on transparent, not dry or flaky. Once on, I have never found that rubs off on my clothes or causes those unsightly white creases when your put your shirt on. (We all know about that!).

I find the longevity of this product depends on what I am doing for the day. Normally this product does provide me with the 12 hour work day protection that I need. On a minimally active day (light walks, driving, office work) I have never noticed any smell. I mean, not even the lavender scent. However, on days where I may be quite active and stir up a sweat, I will perspire, BUT still do not have any noticeable body odor associated. I actually do like knowing that the pores are still actively perspiring while the product is on as it gives me a level of knowledge that the product is working the way it is supposed to.

Product Description

Ivory Deodorant ingredients aren’t so much about what is IN them, but what ISN’T in them. Meaning ingredients like aluminum, talc, baking soda, parabens, and phthalates are not part of the product. The most important takeaway here is understanding that aluminum salts (used in antiperspirants) block the apocrine sweat glands which can lead to potential blockages of those glands. This has a potential of leading to health problems down the road if your natural functions of your body are consistently being suppressed.

The product is made with naturally derived Dead Sea Salt, with a hint of coconut, waterlily, aloe, chamomile, oatmeal, or lavender. It has been dermatologist tested and Ivory does not test on animals, which checks off my ethical box for a company.

Key Ingredients

Final Thoughts

I have read hundreds of reviews on this product, and I really had to look to find anything negative about it. Obviously if you are super sensitive, you may have a reaction, however, it is so gentle that this seems to be a very rare response. I have been using it for a couple of years now, and find that it is wonderful. As stated before, even when put to the test (a high intensity day), Ivory Deodorant holds it’s own and eliminates any odor.
